Excellent Leveling Bifunctional Saturated Polyester Resin for Heat Transfer Printing Powder Coatings
◎Introduction
TI3905 is a bifunctional saturated polyester resin for polyester/ TGIC/ Isocyanate powder coating system, suitable for heat transfer print powder coatings with clear transfer texture.
The matte powder coating prepared by carboxyl-terminated polyester resin and TGIC curing agent is difficult to achieve a gloss below 10, and the coating leveling and mechanical properties are defective; Hydroxyl-terminated polyester resin matting powder coating mainly uses high and low hydroxyl blending matting method. The matting powder coating prepared by this method has excellent properties, but its process control is difficult and the preparation cost is high.
The bifunctional polyester resin has both terminal carboxyl groups and terminal hydroxyl groups, which provides more possibilities for formula changes for the preparation of matte powder coatings, and can prepare cross-linked interpenetrating network matt coatings formed due to multiple curing so that the performance and advantages of both carboxyl-terminated and hydroxyl-terminated polyester resins can be combined.
