96/4 HAA Primid Saturated Polyester Resins with Excellent Flowability
◎Introduction
NH6688K is a saturated carboxyl polyester resin designed for 96.5:3.5 Primid XL 552 powder coating to be cured at 180℃.
Outdoor powder coating systems are divided into two categories: triglycidyl isocyanurate (TGIC) and hydroxyalkylamide (HAA) according to their curing systems. TGIC has a triazine ring epoxy structure, the prepared powder coating film has high hardness, clear and bright board surface, no pinholes in a thick coating, good weather resistance, yellowing resistance, and adjustable curing speed; Sensitivity and potential carcinogenicity, the European Union has clearly stipulated that it should not be used as a curing agent for powder coatings; in addition, due to its good compatibility with polyester, small molecular TGIC will produce relatively small molecules after adding it to polyester. With the strong plasticizing effect, so TGIC will greatly reduce the powder Tg, which in turn affects its storage stability. HAA has a highly active amide hydroxyl structure, which has the advantages of energy saving, non-toxicity, and mechanical properties. In addition, it has poor compatibility with polyester and does not reduce the powder Tg basically, so it does not affect the storage stability of the powder; at the same time, due to the HAA Due to its inherent chemical structure, even in the absence of catalysts, the curing speed is still very fast, and the leveling of the resulting coating cannot be satisfactory.
NH6688K solves the above problems, it has excellent leveling performance and surface fineness.
