Low Curing Temperature, No VOC Environmentally Friendly MDF Powder Coatings
◎ Introduction
MDF powder coating is a durable thermosetting coating finish that fully encapsulates the MDF board with excellent mechanical properties and chemical performance.
MDF is medium density fiberboard (medium density fiberboard), medium density fiberboard is a board with a density in the range of 0.50 ~ 0.88g/cm3, which is made of plant fiber as raw material, applied with urea-formaldehyde resin or other synthetic resin, and pressed under heating and pressure conditions, and other suitable additives can also be added to improve sheet properties.
◎ Recommended Application
For MDF furniture and hardware finishes, such as commercial furniture, residential furniture, retail displays, office fitouts, kitchen and bath cabinets, etc.
◎ Advantages
1. There is no water consumption in the production process.
2. The remaining powder coatings in the production process can be recycled.
3. High-strength protective layer, not only high scratch resistance, high wear resistance, but also high moisture resistance.
4. The shape, color and surface texture of MDF create infinite space for design.
5. No volatile organic compounds and formaldehyde, Tianna water, stupid and heavy metals. The closed powder package greatly reduces the formaldehyde emission remaining in the MDF, and the bacteria are not easy to grow.
6. The medium density fiberboard is sterilized by high temperature at 250ºC, and at the same time, it can effectively remove the formaldehyde in the board and meet the EO environmental protection standard.
7. The baking temperature of MDF powder coating is 120ºC. Compared with the baking temperature of conventional powder, which is 200ºC, the baking temperature is greatly reduced, which effectively achieves energy saving and emission reduction, and provides a more comfortable working environment for workshop staff.

◎ Coating Reference
Spraying Method: Electrostatic spraying.
Timber Treatment: Polish and clean the surface according to the actual requirement.
Timber Moisture Content: 4%-8%
Pre-heat Temperature: The substrate temperature is about 60ºC
Curing condition: Circulated heating by infrared and hot air. 130ºC ~ 150ºC (surface temperature of the substrate), 5 ~ 20 minutes, according to the production line. Our current client uses the condition at 140ºC/8min.
◎ Notice
It’s suitable for exterior or interior use.
Different kinds of MDF substrates will affect evidently the spraying effect.
The color and appearance would not be affected by spraying thickness.
There are differences between the laboratory sample and the coating plate of the production line, and the spraying parameters need to be adjusted by the customer to meet the requirements.
◎ Transportation and storage
The net weight of carton packaging is 25kg or 20kg.
It is not a hazardous article, so it has no specific transportation requirement.
Store in a dry and cool place below 25ºC.
Shelf Life: 6 months.
