Introduction

 

NH6688T is tribo chargerable type version of NH6688, are saturated carboxyl polyester resins for low gloss polyester/primid (96:4) powder coatings by dry blending procedure.

With its advantages of economy, environmental protection, high efficiency and excellent performance, powder coatings are gradually replacing organic solvent-based coatings, becoming an important development direction in the coatings industry, and have maintained a rapid growth rate. Recently, the consumption of weather-resistant low-gloss powder coatings has shown a large upward trend. On the one hand, consumers feel that the high-gloss bright paint is more reflective after film formation, which is harmful to human eyes; on the other hand, consumers' aesthetic concept is becoming more and more inclined to casual, stylish and personalized. Coupled with the booming demand of my country's automobile and home appliance industries. These factors have led to a dramatic increase in the demand for low-gloss coatings with a softer appearance.

Polyester thermosetting powder coatings can be divided into pure polyester type and mixed type according to different curing systems, among which the mixed type is the most widely used. Pure polyester type mainly includes polyester-TGIC system and polyester-PRIMID system, which are mostly used outdoors; because TGIC has certain toxicity and is irritating to human skin, especially in summer, the operators of powder coating preparation often have allergies. Therefore, countries such as Europe and the United States are actively developing alternatives to TGIC, among which the more successful one is P-hydroxyalkylamide. The main advantages of P-hydroxyalkylamide curing systems compared to TGIC are:

①The toxicity is very low, the oral LD50 of mice is less than 10g/Kg, and it is non-irritating and has no allergic reaction to the skin. In addition, it is important that it has no mutagenic and teratogenic effects, and does not destroy the ecological balance;

②The storage stability of polyester powder coatings cured with e-hydroxyalkylamide is better than that with TGIC;

③ The leveling and impact resistance of the coating are slightly better than those of TGIC;

④ The cost of powder coating is slightly lower than with TGIC.

NH6688T is cured by P-hydroxyalkylamide, which is in line with the development direction of environmental protection. At the same time, it can be used for dry blending matting to prepare low-gloss powder coatings, and has excellent mechanical properties.
