Blended TGIC Saturated Polyester Resin With Good Leveling For Outdoor Low Gloss Powder Coatings
◎Introduction
6002 and 6006 are high and low acid value polyester resins respectively, which are used in polyester/TGIC powder coating systems. Using 6002 and 6006 to make powder respectively and then dry mixing to make outdoor semi-gloss powder coating.
Due to its advantages of no pollution, energy saving, and near-zero VOC emissions, powder coatings have achieved rapid development around the world, with an output of 1.6 million tons in 2017. At present, domestic thermosetting powder coatings are mainly divided into indoor powder coatings and outdoor powder coatings, of which indoor powder coatings are mainly epoxy resin powder coatings, while outdoor powder coatings can be cured by TGIC and Primid. When TGIC is used to cure powder coatings since no small molecular by-products are formed during baking and curing, the surface of the coating is not prone to shrinkage cavities, pinholes, and other problems, and the surface clarity and gloss are high.
